FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything patients, families, and facilities usually want to know before booking with Arival.

What is non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT)?

NEMT is scheduled transportation for people who need a ride to and from medical appointments, treatments, or facility discharges, but do not require an ambulance or emergency response.

What areas does Arival serve?

Arival currently serves Fulton County and DeKalb County, Georgia — including Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Alpharetta, Decatur, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, and Chamblee.

Is Arival an emergency transportation service?

No. Arival provides non-emergency transportation only. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.

What kind of vehicles does Arival use?

NEMT isn't only wheelchair vans. We offer clean, comfortable ambulatory sedans for clients who can walk to the curb but still need medical transport — including those who are immunocompromised or managing pain, mental health, or TBI-related needs — as well as wheelchair-accessible vehicles with lift or ramp access and trained securement.

How far in advance do I need to book a ride?

We recommend 24–48 hours whenever possible, so our Care Concierge Team can confirm the right vehicle and driver for your needs. If you have an unexpected appointment, give us a call anyway — we'll always do our best to help.

Does Arival work with Medicaid or Medicare transportation brokers?

Yes. Our management team's 12+ years in NEMT includes direct experience with managed transportation broker networks. Whether a trip is scheduled through a broker, directly by a facility, or by a patient's family, our Care Concierge Team becomes an extension of your care team once the trip is assigned.

How much does a ride cost?

Rates depend on the route, vehicle type, and whether the ride is booked directly, through a facility, or through a broker. Download our service brochure or reach our Care Concierge Team directly for a quote — including a welcome offer for new private-pay clients.

Can a facility or case manager set up recurring routes?

Yes. Facilities and case managers can set up standing routes for recurring needs such as dialysis or treatment series. See our Facilities & Case Managers page.

What happens if my ride is running late?

Our Care Concierge Team builds every schedule around your appointment time. If a delay ever becomes unavoidable, we contact you directly before your scheduled pickup time, not after — and private clients can also follow their ride live through our app.

How do I schedule a ride with Arival?

Private clients and families can request a ride through our contact page, by phone, or by email. Facilities and case managers can set up direct scheduling or recurring routes with our Care Concierge Team.
